ISA – Internal Security Act or Akta Keselamatan Dalam Negeri

What is ISA?
One website elaborate as “The Internal Security Act 1960 (ISA) is a preventive detention law in force in Malaysia. Any person may be detained by the police for up to 60 days without trial for an act which allegedly prejudices the security of the country or any part thereof. After 60 days, one may be further detained for a period of two years each, to be approved by the Minister of Home Affairs, thus making indefinite detention without trial. In 1989, the powers of the Minister under the legislation were made immune to judicial review by virtue of amendments to the Act.”

Question, Is Malaysia the only country using such preventive measure and make it legalize?
Answer is no.

Am I for it or against it?
I am all for it as a preventive measure in ensuring the peace and harmony in this country. I am all against it if it is use for personal interest enforced wrongly. Over all, yes ISA should and still is relevant as long as man is call man and bound by selfishness, greed, self-centered, sexuality an d all those other mazmumah trade.

Why should we sacrifice the right of many for the right of one? Most of the people believe in democracy, this is democracy. Many against a few. Now, this past few days and weeks, we see people from the opposition and the coalition themselves are in disagreeing on the ISA issue. Well, I can understand why the opposition does it, but what puzzles me is why the coalition members question it? Shouldn’t at this hour when needed the most, they need to stick together and show solidarity? But yet they want to show sodomy..hahahaha.

The coalition a.k.a rulling parties need to do post-mortem on their coalition members and see if it is necessary to have such team members in the team where they kick you when you’re down and no team spirit is shown. If I am you, I will indeed look closely as true friends are found in the most darkest times and we as human, tend to forget our true friends in hour happiest times.

I would like to highlight an issue here, if all of you use your eyes to see the result of the 13 General Election the you will notice that GERAKAN, MIC and few others is not in favour by the people. UMNO is, why? See the result. Umno still won most seats while the rest, near zero or zilt all the way.
This raises the question why, easy. People or more specific, the Malays don’t want them anymore. These people have questions the integrity of ISLAM, the Sultan and Malays right too many times.
If those who want to consider, then UMNO should consider themselves on associating with these coalition members. Sometime to save life, a limb needs to be amputated.

Coming back to ISA, it is not a luxury item that we can do with out. It is a necessity in this multi racial, multi cultural and multi religious country. To do without is like planning to fail, as that the enforcement must be unbiased and constant where now we see that it is very bias and done irregularly by the enforcer. Such as, where most malay or muslim that have been held there are denied many things while the others (with a few protests and a few public statement) are able to be release or discharge. Well that shows isn’t it? That is why, people protest ISA, not because to get rid of it but the implementation must be fair and just. If you can not do that, then you must do a constant enforcement. Still you cannot do that, might as well don’t use it at all.

Summing it all looking into the current senario, the implementation of ISA is not fair and just nor it is constantly enforce. For that, to freeze on using it and taking proper procedure based on the existing law on th existing detainees is recommendable.

Since the existing detainees are not officialy charge in the court of law and/or proven their guilt, the welfare of their family must be taken care off, fully. If not, it is ZALIM.
